The visual arts will be displayed from Feb. 15 through Sept. 13 at the Ukrainian Museum in New York.

The exhibition will showcase 142 works on paper by 13 artists.

Many of the artists were exiled or executed during the Stalinist purges of the 1930s.

The works include sketches of costume and set designs, photographs and posters. They're on loan from the Museum of Theater, Music and Cinema Arts of Ukraine in Kiev.

Highlights include theater designs by Vadym Meller. He was a 1925 gold medal winner at the Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts in Paris.

Also featured are collaborations by ballet choreographer Bronislava Nijinska and painter Alexandra Exter.
