Luxury Travel Advisor’s Ultra Summit for the luxury travel market has begun. This year’s event is being held at The St Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, California.

The invite-only event brings owners and managers from top agencies and luxury suppliers together to one intimate event and also gives attendees the chance to reflect on the industry, as well as look to the future. This year, Ruthanne Terrero, vice president of content and editorial director for the Questex Travel Group, surveyed the attendees before their arrival. From the survey, 65 percent of attending advisors saw an increase in business by 15 percent over the last year.

“This year has certainly been a challenging one in some respects, but despite the obvious disrupters, agencies continue to flourish, which is a great sign of times to come,” said Terrero. “I’m looking forward to seeing what other discoveries we unearth throughout this summit that will benefit the future of luxury travel.”

During the Ultra Summit, which runs through May 25, advisors and suppliers will attend informative sessions on topics such as insights into working with affluent clients, social media strategy and a luxury general manger panel, including Ian Pullan, general manager, The St Regis Monarch Beach, Rick Riess, managing director, Montage Laguna Beach, and Karen Whitt, vice president sales and marketing, The Hartling Group. Ultra attendees will also participate in one-to-one meetings, networking events and receptions.
