The Langham London Marks 150 Years With a New Wing

The Langham London

The Langham London — the landmark Grande Dame at the top of Regent Street in the West End — is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. To mark the big occasion, the Langham has embarked on a renovation program, the largest since the hotel’s talked-about relaunch in 2009. And the first phase was just recently unveiled.

The new Regent Wing was designed and decorated by Richmond International in the style of the Regency period (hence the name). The goal of the Regent Wing is to create the feel of a private residence overlooking Langham Place. Not only does the wing have its own private entrance off Regent Street, it also has direct access to the Chuan Spa — meaning that the Regency Wing is like a boutique hotel. The wing has 43 Grand Executive rooms, plus the new Regent Suite which takes up an entire floor and includes four bedrooms and a kitchen.

The other phases of the anniversary renovations will include the launch of The Langham Club Lounge and the Sterling Suite in the spring. Measuring almost 5,000 square feet, the Sterling Suite was designed to be "the ultimate residential penthouse" with custom furnishings by fine British artisans. It will be equipped with a media lounge, and serviced by a private butler.
