London Preps for the Arrival of Ian Schrager's Edition Hotel

London Edition HotelOctober 15 marks a big day in London, when Ian Schrager will officially return to the hotel scene with the Edition Hotel. (Schrager is the hotelier behind the Sanderson and St. Martins Lane Hotel.) Created in partnership between Marriott and Schrager, the brand of luxury lifestyle hotels currently only has one other property in its portfolio worldwide-- the fabulous Istanbul Edition. (Check out our impressions in the magazine's February issue.)

The highly-anticipated London hotel will be joining a slew of other hot new London properties, including the ME by Melia, Rosewood, and Ace Hotel. Located on the site of the former Berners Hotel in Fitzrovia, the London Edition will have 173 wood-panelled rooms, a 24/7 fitness center, a lounge called the Punch Room, and a restaurant called Berner's Tavern run by Jason Atherton, who created Maze for Gordon Ramsay Holdings. “We will be using British ingredients and will let the seasons sing,” he says.

Finding starting rates from $458 per night, HotelChatter highlights the “free wifi and fur throws on the bed.” For more information, visit edition-hotels.marriott.com/london.
