Details on Miami’s Highly Anticipated Faena Saxony Hotel

Fans of the Faena Hotel in Buenos Aires are waiting with bated breath for the arrival of Faena in North America. Developer Alan Faena has commissioned starchitects Norman Foster and Rem Koolhaus to transform Miami’s old Saxony Hotel on Collins Avenue. The $550 million project is expected to wholly transform the waterfront. Faena told Forbes Magazine: “I’m working on one of the best projects in all of the Americas. We are creating a whole district.”

Local blogs have bemoaned the fact that the Faena District has been a “hush hush project”-but details are starting to emerge. The District’s 19-storey residential tower, called Faena House, recently listed its penthouse for $50 million, which- according to Curbed Miami-“would be the most expensive residential sale in Miami-Dade history.” Across the street, the Faena Sphere Arts Center will have a bevy of shops, fine restaurants, nightlife and a private dock.

No word yet on the opening date for the Faena Saxony Hotel, which is rumored to have a cabaret theatre and an impressive spa (complete with thermal experiences, unisex grooming, and a juice bar & apothecary). For more information, visit www.faena.com/en/miami.
