Ibiza is the place to be in summer, and the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel will host plenty of events for the season. The hotel has announced its opening party for Saturday, May 24, although the line-up for the party (as well as the program of events for the season) is still under wraps. The hotel debuted in 2011, and opened its Ushuaïa Tower just last year. Ushuaïa, which we hear attracts A-listers like Leonardo Di Caprio, includes The Ushuaïa Club, a 236-room resort that overlooks the poolside outdoor performance venue. As we noted last year, this space attracts "bikini-wearing crowds" that dance and splash to DJs like Idris Elba, Pete Tong and Fatboy Slim. Other musicians have included David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Fatboy Slim, Avicii, Usher, Pete Tong and Uner among others.
The Ushuaïa Tower, meanwhile, has 181 rooms and a flower-covered façade. Last year, we noted that Ushuaïa’s laser and firework-primed stage got some shards that mirror the main screen incorporated into the roof so that the visuals shoot out from behind the decks like rays from the sun. When the beach club ends, the music continues at the Pan-Am themed Sky Lounge bar on top of Ushuaïa Tower. Restaurants include Minami (Japanese), Ushuaïa Beach Club (Mediterranean), Montauk Steak House and The Oyster & Caviar Bar.
