Vail Mountain Extends Spring Hours Around Easter Holiday

Ski season may not be quite here yet, but Vail Mountain is already ramping up its spring snow action with extended hours aimed at travelers arriving around the Easter holiday.

The resort will adjust its operating hours to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Saturday, March 28 through Saturday, April 11.

Springtime ski and snowboard conditions tend to be better late in the day than earlier, explained Chris Jarnot, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Vail Mountain, so many guests traveling around this time prefer to start and end their day on the mountain later than Vail's operating hours would normally allow.

Vail’s Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin lifts will close according to their regular schedule during this time while most Front Side lifts will remain open until 5 p.m. On-mountain restaurants, Adventure Ridge, the Vail Ski & Snowboard School and the Small World Nursery will also adjust hours.

Beginning Sunday, April 12 for the final week of the season, operating hours will shift to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
