Van Gogh Museum 3D Collection on Display at Amsterdam's Ciel Bleu Restaurant

van gogh reproduction at le ciel blu amsterdam

A three-dimensional reproduction of Vincent Van Gogh’s painting ‘Wheatfield under Thunderclouds’ is on display until May 29 inside the Ciel Bleu Restaurant at the Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Part of the Van Gogh Museum Edition, the reproduction is a three-dimensional replica identical in color and structure to the original work, and is so accurate that it is impossible to tell the difference between them with just the naked eye.

The replica has inspired the restaurant’s three SVH masters, the highest achievable honor in the Dutch hospitality industry, to create an exclusive five-course meal for diners to enjoy while viewing the artwork. Master chef Onno Kokmeijer, master sommelier Noël Vanwittenbergh and master host Pasquinel Kolk serve the meal with a selection of accompanying wines.

The Hotel Okura Amsterdam is also displaying several other reproductions of Van Gogh’s paintings, including ‘The Harvest’, ‘Sunflowers’ and ‘The Bedroom’. The collection is a result of collaboration between the Van Gogh Museum, distributor Tribute International and developer and producer Fujifilm.
