Vana Belle Resort Opens in Koh Samui

thailandSome 50 miles from the coast of Southern Thailand, Koh Samui is a well-established destination for travellers in search of winter sun and gracious Thai service. Another accommodation option will be available to visitors from January 20, when Vana Belle, A Luxury Collection Resort opens on the island.

Privacy is a focus at the property, with each of the 80 suites and villas having its own pool and views of either the beach or the rainforest which provides a backdrop to Vana Belle. (Vana means ‘forest’ in Thai.) Dining options may be somewhat limited for guests planning longer stays, but standards are expected to be high. Overseen by executive chef Dario Congera, Kiree is a sea-facing restaurant that serves Southern Thai dishes; Panali is an al fresco restaurant specialising in Italian food.

As with pretty much all other luxury hotels in Thailand, massages and spa treatments are a particular area of focus and in addition to the expected menu of locally inspired treatments guests can participate in yoga classes taught by the resort’s own yoga teacher.

Rates at the property start from £366 (THB18,000) per room per night for a classic pool suite, a price that remains valid until July 15, 2013.
