In Vegas This Weekend? Two Ideas on Where to Eat

giada de laurentisIf you happen to be in Las Vegas this weekend -- or can be swayed into hopping on a jet -- we have word on two tips on where to eat.

The Las Vegas Foodie Fest at The LINQ Promenade

Through Sunday, The Las Vegas Foodie Fest is taking place at The LINQ Promenade. Fans of street food won't want to miss the selection of more than 50 top food trucks and vendors from across the U.S.

The selection includes a number of celebrity trucks from The Food Network, History Channel, Cooking Channel and Travel Channel, as well as local Sin City favorites City Dogs and Dragon Grille; California-based White Rabbit, Jogaski Burrito, Tornado Potato; Fluff Ice and Bacon Mania; Q UP Barbeque from Arizona; and Lobser Lady from Maine. New additions this year include Me So Hungry, Dos Chinos, Cambalaches, Frach’s Fried Ice Cream and more.

Tickets are $12 if purchased upon entry and $10 if purchased in advance.

GIADA at The Cromwell Now Serves Breakfast

If you can manage to get out of bed early the next morning (no mean feat, we know), new celebrity restaurant GIADA at the equally new boutique The Cromwell Las Vegas has just added a breakfast menu.

The breakfast menu, which is available from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, includes eight unique items, like Salmon Cakes; the Sunrise Polenta Waffle featuring pancetta, chives, two sunny side up eggs and a side of both béchamel and noble maple syrup; the Strawberry Polenta Waffle, made with fresh strawberries, grilled pineapple and Nutella; the Breakfast Contadina, which is two eggs served any style, crispy polenta cakes, wilted spinach, oven roasted tomatoes and toast; and the Polenta en Cocotte, which is made with creamy polenta, spicy sausage, dried cranberries and Calabrian chile with two poached eggs. An Italian Has, made with marble potatoes, Nueske’s bacon, Finocchiona salumi, peppers, tomato and onion confit with a sunny side up egg, is also available.

Looking for something more traditional? The Breakfast American is two eggs served any style, lemon smashed potatoes with the choice of sweet sausage meatballs or bacon and toast, and the Chia Seed Parfait combines fresh raspberry, chia seeds, maple sweetened Greek yogurt and toasted Marcona almonds.

Fresh pressed juices are also available in a variety of unique blends. Two notable concoctions are the Rise & Shine, which features spinach, carrots, apples, celery, lemon and ginger, and The Palm, made with pineapple, apple, lemon and mint.
