Viceroy Hotel Group has appointed Mikael Svensson as GM of Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah, ahead of the property’s opening in 2016.
In his new role, Svensson will oversee operations at the $1 billion hotel, which will be the group’s first property in Dubai.
Prior to joining the team at Viceroy Palm Jumeirah, the Swedish national was GM at Park Hyatt Canberra, Australia.
Previously, Svensson held a number of positions at Hyatt properties in Seoul, Hong Kong, Taipei, Osaka, Mumbai, Tokyo and Hua Hin.
When it opens, the Viceroy Dubai Palm Jumeirah will offer 477 rooms and suites, 222 Viceroy Residences, ten international and speciality restaurants, 2,624 square feet of spa facilities and three outdoor swimming pools.
