Virgin Atlantic Introduces New Travelchair

Virgin Atlantic, which has been using a specialized TravelChair produced by children’s charity MERU, has announced that a new and improved TravelChair is to be offered. The company is the first airline to upgrade, and will take delivery later this month.

Parents of children with disabilities aged three to 11 in need of special postural support need just ring ahead of travel and Virgin Atlantic will ensure the TravelChair is onboard both outbound and inbound flights – at no extra charge.

The new and improved TravelChair is lighter (now weighing just over 10 pounds) and folds in half to fit into an overhead locker when not in use. It has various adjustable features to ensure that children with disabilities are supported and comfortable, even on long haul flights.
