Salamander Resort & Spa to Open in Middleburg, Virginia in August

Horse at fenceWine connoisseurs and horse enthusiasts should keep August open for travel. Located in the heart of Virginia wine and horse country, The Salamander Resort & Spa is set to open in Middleburg this summer.

The new resort has 168 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants, a wine bar, cooking studio, and a fourteen-room spa with a couples suite. All of this on 340 acres of land, two of which will be dedicated to a culinary garden used by the hotel’s chef, Todd Gray of Equinox Restaurant in Washington, DC.

An onsite Equestrian program is available at Salamander Resort & Spa with a 22-stall barn, practice ring, riding trails and lessons. The property also has tennis courts, an outdoor pool complex, and guest privileges at the nearby Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. While cabin fever isn’t likely, those looking to get away won’t need to go far. Within an hour’s drive of the resort guests can find whitewater rafting, raceway spectating, and of course, over fifty wineries.

The Salamander Resort & Spa is not only good for private getaways and vacations. The property also features the 5,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom, as well as the 1,800 square-foot Junior Ballroom for hosting events. Other indoor and outdoor event venues include the Equestrian Barn event room, and the Stallion Barn, a 100+ year old stone building adjacent to the Grand Lawn. For meetings, conferences, or other gatherings, the resort offers Executive Boardrooms and breakout rooms, hospitality suites and a 2,000 square-foot Presidential Suite with an entertainment balcony.
