A new deal from Poseidon Expeditions will offer an incentive to travelers on two autumn 2017 cruises aboard the 114-guest m/v Sea Spirit into the Southern Ocean. One cruise will travel into the Antarctica Peninsula while the other will spend more time exploring Patagonia, the Falklands and the South Georgia Islands.
In November of 2017, savings from $3,300 to over $8,000 per couple will be available to travelers on the Ultimate Wildlife Expedition: Antarctica Peninsula, South Georgia & Falkland Islands. The 20 day itinerary departs November 6, 2017 and returns November 25, after sailing round trip from Ushuaia, Argentina. The exploration of the Southern Ocean and Falkland’s capital city of Stanley and its outer islands is sure to please any nature lover, as the area is alive with a wide variety of local birds. South Georgia offers guests myriad wildlife sightings, including seals, penguins and albatross. Guests will further explore the whaling heritage of Grytviken and celebrate Shakleton’s findings of the Antarctic Peninsula, including an abundance of marine mammals and penguin colonies within surrounding glacial and mountain scenery.
In October of 2017, the Best of the Southern Ocean: South Georgia & The Falklands tour departs from Puerto Madrym (in Argentine Patagonia) for 19 days on October 20, 2017 before docking in Ushuaia after spending six days exploring South Georgia and three days exploring the Falklands. Another excursion for the animal lover, over 200 bird species have been identified along this route.
For those who book the October cruise (Best of the Southern Ocean) before January 15, 2017, a complimentary full-day, pre-cruise excursion to the Peninsula Valdes Protected Nature Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be included with your package.
