Ibiza, Bhutan and More: Six Senses Expands in 2017

After the successful launch of its first European resort in Portugal’s Douro Valley in summer 2015, Six Senses will soon be adding more European properties to its portfolio. We hear that a resort in Kitzburg, Austria is in the works, along with a boutique retreat on the jetset Mediterranean isle of Ibiza. In fact, the Bangkok-based company will be expanding with eight more resorts in unique settings by the end of 2017.

Another buzzed-about (bucket-list) destination is Bhutan, where Six Senses will create a circuit of five properties for guests to experience the Kingdom’s natural scenery and rich culture. There will be a total of 82 guest suites distributed between five lodges in Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey, Bumthang and Paro.

Also in the works for Six Senses in 2017: Krabey Island in Cambodia, Yangshuo, China and tropical resorts in Fiji and Bali. On the horizon, Six Senses New York is slated to open in 2019.
