Mark your calendars: The new Shangri-La Hotel, Colomo in Sri Lanka is set to up November 16. And beginning September 1, it will be accepting reservations for stay from December 1.
Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo will be the second property in Sri Lanka for the luxury Asian hospitality group. Shangri-La Hambantota Golf Resort & Spa, was the first and opened last June.
Located along the Galle Face Green promenade, just 40 minutes from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, the hotel will offer clear views of the Indian Ocean in most of its 500 guestrooms and suites and 41 serviced apartments. The hotel is set on 10 acres of land that will also accommodate an office tower, two residential buildings and a high-end shopping mall.
Space is no issue for this property. There’s almost 4,500 square meters of venue space available including two ballrooms, an outdoor lawn and several function rooms to host over 1,500 guests.
Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo house five restaurants, bars and lounges offering both local and international cuisine, al fresco dining and daily live entertainment. CHI, The Spa will offer nine treatment rooms, a 24-hour fitness center, and a swimming pool and pool bar overlooking Galle Face Green and the Indian Ocean.
To celebrate the opening, the hotel is offering Discover Colombo package that includes a Sunset Heritage City Walk to explore the colonial charm of the historic Colombo Fort, or a tuk tuk safari of street shopping for hidden gems, dining on local cuisine and more. Priced from $245 per room per night, the package includes daily breakfast, a dinner for two at the local specialty restaurant, 20 percent off on food and beverages, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Business travelers can take advantage of the Business Travel package, which includes return airport transfer, daily breakfast, complimentary laundry and Wi-Fi from $205 per room per night. The room rates are subject to local taxes and service charges.
