Villa d’Este to Remain Open Through Holidays

Villa d’Este, located on Italy’s Lake Como, will remain open for the holidays this year. Traditionally, the hotel has closed for the season in mid-November, but this year Santa Claus (Babbo Natale) will visit Villa d’Este, marking one of the few instances this has happened in the hotel’s 150-year history. The property will remain open until January 3, 2023.

Resplendent with Christmas décor created by floral designer Vincenzo Dascanio, Villa d'Este will offer a variety of seasonal events, including family-friendly cooking classes, festive afternoon teas, and other holiday experiences. In addition, Executive Chef Michele Zambanini has designed a range of “fanciful” menus comprising Italian holiday classics and other lavish gourmet dishes. Special menus and entertainment will be provided at all festive meals.

What to expect:

  • December 24: Christmas Eve Dinner, five courses, €220 per person (€320 per person with wine pairings)
  • December 25: Christmas Day Lunch, five courses, €300 per person (€420 per person with wine pairings)
  • December 31: New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dancing, five courses, 800 per person (€1,100 per person with wine pairings)
  • January 1: New Year’s Day Brunch, sweet and savory buffet, €150 per person (€180 per person with wine pairings)

Villa d'Este is continuously updating and renovating and offers 152 guest rooms and suites. In addition, the four private villas are well-suited for guests who wish to enjoy exclusivity and privacy, as well as all of the services afforded by the hotel. Three of them—Villa Cima, Villa Malakoff and Villa Garrovo—are ideal for families and friends, while the Mosaic House is best for couples.
