Come March 2017, the Italian region of Tuscany will get its first new-build five-star hotel in 25 years. Toscana Resort Castelfalfi will open Il Castelfalfi on a 2,700-acre estate in an 800-year-old village. Currently under construction, the hotel’s design embraces sustainability with eco-friendly measures and showcases traditional materials like wood and stone. There will be 120 guestrooms including 645-square-foot suites with separate living rooms.
Encompassing nearly 11,000 square feet with direct access to the garden, the spa and wellness area will be fully equipped with saunas, a hammam, multi-sensory shower, salt cave, ice cave, and indoor pool. The gym will be stocked with all the latest fitness equipment. Additional facilities include meeting space and a Mediterranean restaurant with a verandah with valley views.
Nice touch: The resort’s Agriculture Director can arrange tours of the surrounding vineyards and olive groves to learn about the estate’s traditional farming operations. Wine tastings included.
