Patina, Capitol Singapore Opens in 2015

Patina, The Capitol, Singapore

Of all the year’s exciting hotel openings, The Patina, Capitol Singapore is high on our list. This self-described “six-star hotel” is housed in two historic-listed buildings (the Capitol Building and Stamford House). As reported by CNN, the hotel is the “brainchild of Singapore's Kwee family -- who also own the city's Capella, Conrad, Regent and Ritz-Carlton hotels.”

The official website bills it as “quite simply, the finest location in Singapore”—surrounded by historic landmarks in the city's downtown Civic District. This will be the flagship for Patina Hotels & Resorts, and it’s part of a larger project transforming the Capitol Movie Theatre into a development with luxury residences, shopping and dining, along with the hotel.

There will be 157 guestrooms, including Wellness Suites and Art Suites, designed in a contemporary style with all the latest technology. The hotel’s public spaces will showcase a contemporary art collection. Facilities will include a fitness center, pool, restaurant, bar, and library-lounge. There will be a focus on “highly personalized” service.
