In Utah’s ski country, there is no shortage of chic and elegant hotels. We’ve got the scoop on the newest addition, Montage Deer Valley, in Park City, a hotel we think is poised to attract the most discerning VIP snow bunnies.
When Montage Deer Valley opens its doors on December 15, it will be done in true Montage style. Translation: Top-of-the-line luxury services and amenities, blended with design that reflects the best of the location.

Montage Deer Valley will quickly become known for its top-notch accommodations, particularly for the mountain views they afford. The top choice at the resort is the 3,200-square-foot Presidential Suite, No. 780. The suite, on the south side of the resort, with expansive views of Empire Mountain, has two bedrooms, two living areas and a dining area, galley kitchen, 60-inch LCD TVs, marble five-fixture baths with double vanity, deep soaking tub, steam shower and heated floors, large private balcony and a massage room for in-suite spa treatments.
Note: If the Presidential Suite is booked, the Empire Suite and Alpine Suites are more-than-suitable substitutes. If it is views your clients are after, the Peak Views and Vista Views are sure to deliver.
Montage Deer Valley is a true ski-in/ski-out resort, with three high-speed lifts in both the front and rear.
Aching from an afternoon of slope-surfing in the cold mountain air? An expansive 35,000-square-foot spa with 29 treatment rooms awaits the weary. Nuptial Note: Brides-to-be should opt for the Serenity Suite, which is ideal for bridal parties.
Betrothed couples will be wowed by two ballrooms, a seasonal lawn and an après-ski terrace that looks out to the valley. The resort can accommodate rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, groom’s parties and wedding brunches as well. Note: If in need of a top floral designer, photographer or stylist, the resort’s staff is knowledgeable and happy to give recommendations in the area.
Park City cuisine combines the latest epicurean trends with quality, locally grown products, and Montage Deer Valley is seeking to set the bar for gourmands. Apex is the resort’s signature restaurant (think mountain American grill with farm-fresh ingredients). Breakfast, lunch and a skier’s buffet will be available, along with cooking classes and wine-and-cheese tastings. Want the top table in the house? Other dining venues include Daly’s Pub & Rec for gourmet gastro pub fare; Vista Lounge & Terrace, a hot spot for cocktails and wines by the glass, as well as bistro nibbles; and Buzz Coffee & Tea, for that jolt on the go.
What we love about Montage Deer Valley is that in addition to being an über luxe ski chateau, it doubles as an equally elegant summer escape. During spring, summer and fall, the resort’s mountain terrain, valleys and forests open up to myriad activities (think horseback riding, hiking, swimming and fly-fishing).

Four-legged friends in tow? Montage Deer Valley will gladly welcome them. The resort allows dogs up to 45 pounds with a $100 nonrefundable deposit. Nice Touch: The pet guest fee includes a welcome dog toy, plus all-natural treats and a deluxe dog bed provided upon request.
Star Gazing: The resort will play host to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival’s opening weekend in late January, which will be invite-only and is sure to attract some of the country’s premier independent filmmakers and the celebrities featured in their films.
Getting There: Guests can fly into Salt Lake City International Airport, which is about 35 miles from the resort. Luxury house cars can be booked ahead of time for trips to downtown Park City, just a five-minute drive away, and home to the famous Main Street boutiques and restaurants.
If your clients prefer a private arrival (think private jets or helicopters), Heber City Municipal Airport accepts private aircraft.

Bear in mind that the resort is expected to be at its busiest during the Christmas holidays, Martin Luther King weekend, Presidents’ Day weekend and Sundance. It is recommended to book reservations six months in advance for Sundance and a year out for Christmas.
