Belmond to Manage the Cadogan Hotel in London

Cadogan Hotel London

It’s an exciting time for Belmond, the brand formerly known as Orient-Express Hotels. (Check out our exclusive interview with President and CEO John Scott.) Its iconic hotels like the Hotel Cipriani and Grand Hotel Europe have already been rebranded (the Belmond Hotel Cipriani and Belmond Grand Hotel Europe) to create an easily identifiable connection between global properties. And now we’ve received word that Belmond has taken on another management contract, this time at the historic London hotel, The Cadogan, located on Sloane Street in Knightsbridge.

The hotel will be closing soon for a $48 million renovation, reducing its 64 rooms to 54, and reopening in summer 2016 as the Belmond Cadogan. The hotel was originally built in 1887 in the Queen Anne style, and has a rich history (Oscar Wilde frequently stayed in room 118, where his infamous arrest took place.) The building’s heritage will be showcased in the restoration project. For more information, visit www.cadogan.com
