Agreement Finalized for Trump Hotel in Washington's Old Post Office

Exciting news for visitors to the U.S. capital today: The Trump Organization has finalized its deal with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) on plans to redevelop the iconic Old Post Office Building on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. The Trump Hotel Collection is planning a $200 million redevelopment of the historic building into a super-luxury hotel that we hear will be called the Trump International Hotel, The Old Post Office Building, Washington, D.C.

Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2014, and the doors are expected to open at the end of 2015.

Donald J. Trump, president and chairman of The Trump Organization, said that the Trump Organization “is committed to preserving the architectural integrity of The Old Post Office” during the renovation. Design details are expected in the coming weeks.

In February 2012, The Trump Organization was selected by the GSA as the preferred developer of The Old Post Office. The redevelopment plan includes more than 270 guest rooms, penthouses and presidential suites; restaurants, a café, and a bar and lounge; banquet, ballroom and meeting facilities; a 4,000-square-foot Mar-a-Lago Spa by Ivanka Trump; and a library – as well as a curated museum, exhibition gallery, and indoor and outdoor gardens.
