Iberostar Launches New Booking Portal Exclusively for Travel Agents

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has launched IberostarPro.com, a new online booking engine for travel professionals.

With the new engine, advisors can now search for real-time rates and room availability in more than 100 Iberostar properties in 17 countries around the world, and book hotel only for their clients'. IberostarPro stores company details as well as past and new reservations, simplifying the process of reservation modifications and future bookings. The engine is available in seven languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian and Italian.

As an introductory offer, travel agents will receive a 15 percent commission for every booking made through the portal until December 15. Registered users will receive a 10 percent commission with every reservation after the initial promotion.

IberostarPro will also add StarAgents to its platform, a loyalty rewards program for travel agents only, which allows them to earn points toward free stays when booking clients at Iberostar Hotels & Resorts properties with no need to reenter booking information into a third-party site. Agents that register for the StarAgents program will automatically receive 500 points.

Las Vegas Welcomed 42.9 million visitors in 2016, surpassing 2015’s recordsetting 42.3 million, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). That total marks a third consecutive year of growth for the city, which got off to an even better start in 2017. January visitor volume was up 1.1 percent over January 2016, and the LVCVA is projecting another record year.

The destination also continues to enjoy industry-leading occupancy rates with an exceptionally large base of nearly 150,000 available rooms. That number keeps growing as well with new hotels and expansions to established properties. Here are some of the latest developments on that front.

With more than 56 million overnight stays in 2016, London has set a new visitation record. The milestone also means that in 2016, London drew more overnights than any other city in Europe, according to new research from the city’s destination marketing organization, London & Partners. European Cities Marketing reports there were over 41 million overnight stays from international tourists last year –– an increase of 7 percent over 2015.

Napa Valley Wine Train Is Offering First-Ever Commission

The Napa Valley Wine Train is offering travel agents a 10 percent commission on entire package sales. All packages and tours for both group and individual bookings are eligible for commission.   

Travel agents or travel professionals with a valid IATA, CLIA number or equivalent affiliations are eligible and will be given commission following the dates guests take the wine train.

The wine train recently announced several new experiences including the expansion of its Quattro Vino tour which now includes the Legacy, Estate, Collective tours as well as one more that will be announced soon. Quattro Vino makes stops at three of Napa Valley’s most renowned wineries aboard a renovated 1915 Pullman railcars.

Quattro Vino tours begin with a sparkling wine tasting followed by a four-course Napa Valley style meal. Guests then enjoy tastings at three wineries. The six hour trip will take guests roundtrip from the town of Napa. 

Tickets for each of the Quattro Vino tours start at $329 per person and include train fare, food, and tours and tastings at the wineries.

In addition to daytime tours, the wine train will also introduce Twilight Private Tours that allow guests to enjoy an evening tour of Raymond Vineyards or Grgich Hills Estate. The tour includes appetizers and wine tastings onboard as well as dessert and coffee upon return from the vineyards. Transportation is provided  to an exclusive evening dining experience at the wineries, only open to guests of the Napa Valley Wine Train.  

The Twilight Private Tour starts at $339 per person and are only available on Saturdays.
