Aman Announces New Holistic Retreats for 2015

Amanjiwo SpaAmanresorts just announced that it will be offering a program of holistic retreats and experiences for 2015, taking place in several of its locations around the world. 

The new wellness experiences are designed to rejuvenate guests who want to “unwind, and find their inner calm.” Programs will include local treatments, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well others that focus on body movement, recovery and an increased "sense of wellbeing".

Amanoi, Vietnam 

Holistic Specialist; April 16 - May15; July 15 - August

Cameron Walker, a holistic specialist from Australia, has over 15 years of experience in Craniosacral Therapy, yoga, breath work and deep tissue massage. He will host sessions which will work on releasing muscle cramps and negative patterns in the body and mind using a number of different healing methods.
Raw food specialists Dean Gleeson and Andrew Cox will give culinary lessons on creating raw food and juices, as well as provide individuals with challenging movement and fitness sessions. Stephen Kirwin, a neuro muscular specialist, will also be in residence. 

Amanoi is a private resort bordered by a national park overlooking Vinh Hy Bay, and has an extensive Aman Spa. 

Aman at Summer Palace, Beijing

Restorative Movement; May 22-30; November 13-25

The "Restorative Movement" retreat will combine Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with “reconnective healing and structural integration”. The programs will be led by Alex Tan, an experienced TCM practitioner, and Robert Hyrsky, a reconnective healing specialist.

Accommodations include three daily meals with tonics and wellness juices, three daily therapy sessions, a naturopathic consultation, spa treatments, and daily group Tai Chi classes. Guests will also have access to wellness facilities including a sauna, steam, jacuzzi and plunge pools.

The spa at Aman at Summer Palace has nine private double treatment suites. 

Amanbagh, India

Shanti; April 1- September 30

The three-night "Shanti" retreat allows guests the chance to participate in daily yoga, sunrise walks, an excursion to Bhangarh, or a Champi Indian head massage. Amanbagh is set on a garden estate, which in turn provides the resort’s restaurants with organic fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs. During the retreat, guests will harvest their own produce and take part in local Ajabgarh cooking lessons in a traditional gwaadi (village hut).

Amanzoe, Greece

Movement and Flow; May 8 - 17
Movement and Alignment; September 11 - 20
Ayurveda and Yoga; October 9 – 18

Located on the Peloponnesian coastline of southern Greece, Amanzoe will host four- and seven-night "Movement and Flow" retreats this May, all led by Francesc Miralles (TCM), Steve Karle (Watsu and Aquatic bodywork) and Lei Ming (Tai Chi master). Guests will focus on patterns of movement on both land and in the water, as well as receive daily breakfast, private sessions with each specialist, and spa treatments. 

The "Movement & Alignment" retreat will concentrate on Pilates, Craniosacral Therapy and Watsu, while the "Ayurveda & Yoga" program will offer deep tissue muscle relief, Abhyanga oil massages, and Marma energy therapy. 

Amantaka, Laos

Inner Reflection; May 10 – June 10 

Specialists in Theravada Buddhist meditation and Laotian culture be leading four-night retreats integrating a holistic approach to the Buddhist technique of mindfulness. Guests will participate in the daily offering of alms to monks at sunrise, morning Yin Yoga or Qigong, afternoon meditation and tea, and one 90-minute traditional Laotian massage per stay. Guests will also learn about Buddhist philosophy, offerings and chanting at a local temple. 

Aman Tokyo

Spring Seasonal Treatment; March - June 1

Situated on the thirty-third and thirty-fourth floors, the spa at Aman Tokyo is the largest in the city and was designed to reflect the hotel’s contemporary Japanese style. As part of the "Spring Seasonal Treatment," the spa will offer locally inspired "Spa Journeys," which can be tailored to guests' individual needs. Each Spa Journey begins with the traditional practice of Misogi, a water-based foot bath using seasonal Kampo herbs with mineral sea salt. Guests will also receive a body scrub containing Japanese clay, rice oil, and green tea. The treatment is completed with a body massage using Nioikobushi essential oil and rice oil. 

Amandari, Bali

Disconnect & Connect; Summer 2015

Guests will meet with Pak Cok Rai, a member of the Ubud royal family known for his insight and healing powers, and receive a Balinese blessing which “purifies the spirit and relaxes the mind”. The retreat also includes guided exploration of local Balinese villages by foot and mountain bike, and a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Jutiluwih. 

Amankora, Bhutan

The Truth from Within Retreat; May 12 - 20 and  September 11 – 19
Inner Silence; June 6 –14

During May and September, Amankora will host His Eminence the 9th Neyphug Trulku Rinpoche, known as one of the "seven spiritual sons of the Great Terton". He will lead the "Truth from Within" retreat, taking guests through daily meditation sessions, lectures, private sessions for life coaching and temple visits. The retreat will include two nights’ accommodation at each Amankora property in Thimphu, Gangtey, Punakha and Paro. 

In June, Amankora will host the "Inner Silence" retreat which will fuse practices from Tantric Buddhism in Bhutan with Vedantic principles. Each day will begin with a zen walking meditation, as well as talks and exercises focus on Buddha’s teachings relating to the "nature of suffering and the beauty of silence”.

Amanusa, Bali and Amanjiwo, Central Java

Toby Maguire, an expert in life coaching and stress management, will be in residence at Amanusa, Aman’s garden hillside retreat in Bali, and Amanjiwo, located in Central Java. Guests will take part in private treatment sessions, including abdominal and therapeutic massages, Auricular Acupuncture (acupuncture of the outdoor ear), hypnotherapy, meditation and sessions in life coaching.
