Ashford Castle in Ireland Invites Guests to Special "Hogwarts Halloween"

Ashford Castle is offering a special "Hogwarts Halloween" from October 25 to November 2, 2013. Guests will be able to explore the expansive grounds on a trek through the "Forbidden Forest," meet the castle's resident owl, Dingle, and enjoy a "House Elf" cooking lesson in little helpers' Cookery School. Everyone can join in the fun with competitions like the "Hidden Garden" treasure hunt and an afternoon "Chamber of Art" painting class. A dinner for two is also offered.

The two "Hogwarts Halloween" packages include:

October 26, 28, 30; November 1

  • Noon: "Forbidden Forest" treasure hunt
  • 3 p.m.: Visit Dingle, Ashford Castle's resident owl (supervised)
  • 4 p.m.: Afternoon "Chamber of Art" painting class (supervised)
  • 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Kids' dinner in the Ardilaun Suite (supervised)
  • 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Harry Potter movie evening (supervised)
  • From 7 p.m.: George V Table d'Hote dinner for two

October 25, 27, 29, 31; November 2

  • Noon: "Hidden Garden" treasure hunt
  • 3 p.m.: "House Elves" little helpers Cookery School (supervised)
  • 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Afternoon "Chamber of Witchcraft & Wizardry" (supervised)
  • 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Kids' dinner in the Ardilaun Suite (supervised)
  • 6:30pm - 9pm: Harry Potter movie evening (supervised)
  • From 7 p.m.: George V Table d'Hote dinner for two

The one-night package is priced at €522 (approximately US $689) per room, per night and the two-night package costs €988 (approx. US $1,305) per room, per night. Both packages offer accommodation in a Deluxe Family Room and are based on two adults and two children under the age of 12 sharing the room. An additional charge of €95 (approx. US $126) per night may be applied for each additional child.
