Word on the street is that the fifth ME by Meliá hotel will be opening this fall in Vienna. The brand has already made a splash in London with the new Norman Foster-designed hotel (check out that awesome roof terrace!), and the Vienna hotel will have a similarly splashy setting: inside the tallest skyscraper in Austria. Conceived by architect Dominique Perrault, the DC Towers are a futuristic landmark on Vienna’s skyline, soaring more than 700 feet above the Danube. The ME by Meliá, operated by Spanish brand Sol Meliá, occupies the first 15 floors of DC Tower 1. The two towers are part of Vienna’s Donau-City, the largest real estate development in Austria.
Located in hot urban settings, ME hotels are all about cutting-edge, contemporary style with a focus on local flavor- so expect sexy restaurants, happening bars, and all the latest technology. Here’s the room count break-down: Of the 255 guest rooms, there are 102 deluxe rooms, 84 loft suites, 63 urban suites, and six grand suites with panoramic views of the river.
