Following two years of extensive redesign, the new Hotel Bel-Air is set to debut this October.

The hotel’s new look, designed by the collaboration of Alexandra Champalimaud and Rockwell Group, presents a new aesthetic that maintains the Bel-Air’s distinct individuality. While the Spanish Colonial architecture is still splashed in the familiar “Bel-Air Pink,” new design themes call to mind the glamorous eras of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.

The 103 refurbished guest rooms and suites, 12 of which are entirely new, will offer sweeping canyon views, sliding glass walls, outdoor fireplaces and decks with private spa pools. Most of the guest rooms and suites will feature enlarged bathrooms with a separate shower and bath and heated floors. There will also be seven individually designed specialty suites, including a new Presidential Suite compound with 6775 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space, private dining for 10, a chef’s kitchen, a study, a great room with a grand piano, and a private pool located within a private Spanish courtyard.

The new Bel-Air will also feature a Spanish mission style structure with a bell tower, fitness studio, three “Loft guestrooms” with open floor plans, double-sided fireplaces and a spa  by Swiss beauty company La Prairie.

The familiar restaurant will reopen as the Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air, and it will focus on modern California cuisine with European and Mediterranean influences. The Garden Ballroom now hosts a total of 250 people, and the executive boardroom can seat 14 for business meetings with video conferencing.

Rates start at $565 and will include a $100 dining credit until December 29.
