Contributors to the August 2015 Issue

Lindsay Lambert Day, an Atlanta-based writer and editor, traveled to Bali and Mexico for this issue. With stamps on her passport from Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean, she hopes to hit Australia and Antarctica by 2020 to complete her continental checklist. In addition to Luxury Travel Advisor, her work has been published in American Spa, Cincinnati Wedding, Northshore, Ocean Home and Palm Beach Illustrated magazines, and online at Coastal Living, LearnVest, Jetsetter and Paste. Sharri Whiting De Masi is Luxury Travel Advisor’s Italian correspondent. Sharri has written for the LA Times, The Social Register Observer, WSJ-Europe, Food Arts, Travel Africa, La Cucina Italiana, Travel News Namibia, Millionaire (ML), American Writer, International Living and many other publications. She has also written an app (Olive Oil IQ) and a blog, as well as two books, “Culture Smart! Namibia” (Random House) and “Top 10 Guide to Rome” (The Internationalist). Originally hailing from Ireland, Lorraine Finn  is currently based in Barcelona. When she’s not basking on the beaches of Spain, she is traveling the world. Her favorite travel memories include camping under the stars in the Sahara Desert and getting lost on the way to Mt. Fiji. Lorraine is a graduate of the National University of Ireland Galway.

Annie Fitzsimmons is a Brooklyn-based travel entrepreneur, writer and speaker. She is National Geographic’s Urban Insider, a contributing editor to National Geographic Traveler, and has been published in many other national media outlets. Recent travels have taken Annie to China, Africa, India, Europe, and South America. She is also a licensed New York City tour guide and loves giving tours when she’s not on the road.

Natalie Maneval is the online editor for Luxury Travel Advisor and regularly edits and writes for the print edition as well. Recently, Natalie helped create Luxury Travel Advisor’s 10th anniversary issue, where she got to profile several of the magazine’s past cover stars. Natalie, of course, is passionate about all things travel and thinks the best way to get to know a destination is through its cuisine. She lives in New York City and is a graduate of Syracuse University and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Based in Paris, Mary Winston Nicklin is a long-time contributor to Luxury Travel Advisor. As a freelance writer, she also writes for publications such as The Washington Post, Rhapsody, Condé Nast Traveler, France Today and USAToday.com. Recent assignments have taken her to Morocco, Belgium and the Atlantic coast of France. Back home in Paris, she enjoys exploring the hidden corners of the city with her two young daughters.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, Joe Pike serves as senior editor of Travel Agent magazine, Luxury Travel Advisor’s sister publication. In 2009, Pike was awarded the Jamaica Tourist Board’s Marcia Vickery-Wallace Memorial Award for Excellence in Travel Journalism; he won the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Inner Circle King Award for Best Feature Article in a Trade Publication in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Pike, who has hosted the Questex Young Travel Leaders Conference for the past four years, received his Master’s Degree in Newspaper, Magazine and Online Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Debbie Sheehan is Luxury Travel Advisor’s resident art director. She has been making the pages of the magazine vibrant and captivating since its inaugural issue in 2005. Her talents also find her working on sister publication Travel Agent magazine, as well as our many Focus Series supplements and Top 10 inserts. Debbie lives in New York City and enjoys recreational painting and photography and spending time with her beloved cat, Sheba.

A veteran of 125 voyages, Susan J. Young is Luxury Travel Advisor’s senior contributing editor-Cruises, based in South Florida. Recently, she’s traveled on cruises to London, Normandy, Lisbon, France’s Rhone/Saone Valley, Bordeaux, Croatia and Italy. Over the years, her articles have been published in Porthole, Caribbean Travel & Life, AAA Carolinas, Onboard.com, US Airways magazine and National Geographic Traveler, among many others. Next up, she is headed to Europe on the Crystal Cruises trade gala.
