A&K Building New Ultra-Lux Riverboat for the Nile

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) is building a new bespoke Nile riverboat—its fifth in Egypt—which will launch in late 2025. The riverboat will have "all the facilities and services of a high-end floating hotel," including two indoor-outdoor restaurants showcasing locally sourced ingredients, a spa, gym, social spaces, a swimming pool and a sundeck. Each of its 32 cabins will have floor-to-ceiling windows, Juliet balconies and marble bathrooms, while two presidential suites—"unprecedented in size"—will have an outdoor hot tub and private deck.

Construction has already begun at Massara Shipyard in Egypt and is expected to be completed in autumn 2025. The name of the new Nile riverboat will be revealed in the coming months. A&K already operates four boutique riverboats on the Nile: the Nile Adventurer, Sun Boat III, Sun Boat IV and Zein Nile Chateau.

A&K has a longstanding relationship with the Nile, which dates back to 1977 when founder Geoffrey Kent, inspired by an encounter with David Niven on the set of “Death on the Nile,” launched the company’s first Nile river cruise. Looking to 2024 and beyond, there is a new reason to visit the country: The long-awaited Grand Egyptian Museum is expected to open, showcasing an extraordinary collection of Ancient Egyptian treasures.

Good to know: The new boat will also be available for private charters.
