Aqua Expeditions announced a new collaboration with world-renowned champion of ocean conservation and environmental protection, Jean-Michel Cousteau, offering travelers a series of cruises in 2017 and 2018. The hosted cruises by the famed explorer will be available on both Aria Amazon and Aqua Mekong, and will be available in three-, four-, and seven-night itineraries.
The son of ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau, Jean-Michel founded the Ocean Futures Society in 1999 to carry on this pioneering work and to honor his father's legacy. An award-winning producer of more than 80 films, Jean-Michel has been recognized internationally with numerous prestigious awards for his work in ocean conservation.
During these voyages, travelers will experience the environmentally rich Amazon and Mekong rivers from the perspective of a conservationist and will get to know Jean-Michel in the intimacy of a small group of fellow travelers (the Aria Amazon's maximum capacity is 32 passengers; the Aqua Mekong's is 40). Guests will learn first-hand about Cousteau's experience exploring the Amazon and other remote areas around the world as he discusses environmental conservation and protection. Each voyage will include evening talks with Cousteau and screenings of several of his award-winning films.
This special series of cruises introduces an in-depth collaboration between Jean-Michel Cousteau and Aqua Expeditions to highlight the importance of environmental conservation.

Rates for the three-night itineraries start at $4,350, $5,600 for four-night departures, and $11,150 for seven nights – all per person, based on double occupancy. Each departure is available for individual travelers or as a buyout for full charters.
Aqua Expeditions has also announced that the first travel agent per year to book a seven-night full charter cruise hosted by Cousteau will be awarded with a week-long vacation for two at the five-star Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort in Fiji.
