On Tuesday, September 7, ultra-luxury Crystal Cruises announced that it's sold its 62-passenger Crystal Esprit yacht.
In a press statement, the cruise company said that "as we have been evaluating our focus post pandemic, the single, small yacht concept does not fit into future plans for the company as we continue to concentrate on the successful deployment of our Crystal ocean, river and expedition fleets, as well as exploring new builds for expansion."
Crystal continued: "Crystal Esprit has been a wonderful part of the Crystal fleet offering a boutique yachting experience unmatched in the industry, earning the devotion of discerning travelers and winning awards since her debut in 2015."
The line expressed its "heartfelt gratitude to the officers and crew who worked passionately to make Crystal Esprit a unique vacation and look forward to welcoming them aboard the other vessels" in its fleet.
Crystal operates everything from intimate European river vessels to the expeditionary Crystal Endeavor and the classic oceangoing, ultra-luxury ships, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony.
Impacted Guests
Crystal said that it's notifying all affected guests and their travel partners about the sale.
The cruise company also explained in the press statement that it's offering guests booked to sail on Crystal Esprit a future cruise credit equal to 115 percent of the cruise fare paid on fully-paid reservations. This can be applied to the Crystal experience of the guest's choice—on any ocean, river or expedition ship. Or, guests can request a full refund.
