Explora Journeys Introduces New Program for Multi-Gen Travelers

Explora Journeys has unveiled a program for multi-generational travelers. Families onboard Explora I and Explora II can enjoy interconnecting suites, a Nautilus Club for children and teenagers, and special destination experiences.

Guests can choose from 78 interconnecting suites across three categories: Ocean Suites, Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences. The “Journey Together Gathering” program is perfect for a gathering of friends or an extended multi-generational family. Groups booking a minimum of three/maximum of four suites—with one suite required to be an Ocean Penthouse or Ocean Residence—can enjoy this space together as a social hub and to relax in a private setting. Travelers with children will benefit from one under-18 in each suite sailing for free, besides complimentary transfers to the ship for all guests booked on the program.

Parents can enjoy a drink or swim at the adults-only Helios Pool & Bar. “Edutainment” activities for children might include a visit to a space center where they will be hosted by an astronaut, or a whale-watching adventure hosted by a marine biologist.

Nautilus Club is open to children aged six to 17, from 9 a.m. to midnight. The choice of activities includes dedicated time at the Sports Court and one of the heated swimming pools, as well as additional locations around the ship. Throughout, they will be led by Nautilus Club hosts certified in safeguarding children and following CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) policies and standards on youth activities.

Children aged three to five (accompanied by a parent or guardian) are welcome at Nautilus Club. They will find time slots dedicated to their age group, packed with exciting activities. Infants aged six to 24 months will have age-appropriate toys available in-suite.

Nautilus Club offers gaming consoles such as PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iPads and Oculus Pro. There is also a foosball and multi-game table; pool table; a jukebox tablet connected to streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple; board games; and a multilingual digital library.

Youngsters can participate in art and craft sessions, and when it’s time to take a break, a chill-out space offers quiet relaxation.

In partnership with the MSC Foundation, Nautilus Club offers an activity program that includes workshops and discussions on marine conservation, environmental footprint, the sustainable practices employed onboard Explora Journeys’ ships, the impact of tourism, and community support.

Young explorers and their families can avail of discounts when traveling together:

  • Infants aged six to 23 months sail free of charge
  • Children aged two to 17 years can enjoy up to 50 percent off the journey fare

To benefit from this offer, infants and children need to be registered as the third or fourth guests in the same suite. The first and second guests are not eligible, regardless of their age at time of sailing.
