First Look: Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s Caribbean Shore Excursions

The countdown to the 2020 debut of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the new luxury cruise brand from Ritz-Carlton, is underway. The new brand has just released a look at its Shore Collection for its 2020 Caribbean itineraries, making for a first look at the brand’s shore excursions.

The excursions will be divided into five categories: Iconic Sights, Stirring the Senses, Cultural Connections, Active Explorations and Epicurean Experiences. The brand is also introducing a selection of overland programs.

Shore Collection tours are offered in intimate group sizes, Ritz-Carlton said, and most can be personalized into private experiences. A dedicated Concierge Ashore is also available to create bespoke experiences for guests.

Highlights of the Caribbean Shore Collection include an exclusive tour of Aruba Aloe in Oranjestad, Aruba, paired with an aloe-based treatment at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Aruba. Aruba Aloe is one of the world’s first companies to formulate and manufacture skin and hair products with the plant, Ritz-Carlton said.

In Colombia, the brand is offering an overland itinerary to Bogota. The overnight excursion allows guests to experience the city’s colonial district, including the presidential mansions and museums dedicated to gold and Botero, as well as an evening outing to Monserrate, a hilltop church that offers views over the city. There will also be a number of dining experiences, such as a cooking class with a local chef in a private home following a trip to the Plaza de Paloquemao fruit and flower market.

A notable Active Explorations itinerary in Belize will see a chartered aircraft take off from Belize City, offering flightseeing over the Lighthouse Reef, Great Blue Hole and Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. The plane will then touch down in the jungle at an exclusive resort for a wine and food pairing four-course lunch.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is set to debut in February 2020 with the first of three yachts accommodating up to 298 passengers in 149 suites, each with its own private terrace. The yacht will also have two 1,700-square feet Owner’s Suites, which will have their own private whirlpools.

The Yacht Collection is all-inclusive, with accommodations, onboard activities and entertainment, beverages, multiple dining venues, onboard gratuities, Wi-Fi and water sports from the yacht’s marina included in fares. Signature experiences available for an additional fee include a culinary experience at Aqua, the yacht’s signature restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Sven Elverfeld, spa treatments, and immersive excursions offered through The Shore Collection.
