Seabourn Announces Wellness Cruises to Arabia, South Pacific

Seabourn will offer two new Wellness Cruises in 2019 and 2020, one sailing from Athens to Dubai and another between Auckland and Sydney. Both itineraries will include lectures, discussions, classes and demonstrations led by Seabourn partner Dr. Andrew Weil and a team of integrative medicine experts.

Sailing from November 13 to December 2 aboard the Seabourn Ovation, the cruise line’s Route to Ancient Wellness itinerary will follow old trading routes in the Mediterranean, cross the Suez Canal and follow the coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Starting in Piraeus (Athens), passengers will stop at Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece; Haifa (Tel Aviv) and Ashdod (Jerusalem), Israel; Aqaba (Petra), Jordan; Muscat, Oman; Ras Al Khaimah and Sir Bani Yas Island, United Arab Emirates; and Doha, Qatar.

Next year’s voyage, Wellness in the South Pacific, will sail on the Seabourn Encore from February 21 to March 8, 2020. Starting out in Auckland, stops will include Taurqanga (Rotorua), Picton, Wellington, Akaroa (Christchurch), Port Chalmers (Dunedin) and Oban (Halfmoon Bay) in New Zealand, and Melbourne, Phillip Island, Eden and Sydney in Australia.

Both sailings will offer a range of Mindful Living shore excursions, with specific tours and programming expected to be announced in the upcoming months. Mindful Living tours are offered on cruises throughout Seabourn’s fleet as part of Weil’s fleetwide Spa & Wellness program. Two examples that are new this year include a lodge retreat in Alaska and a monastery tour in Quebec.

Seabourn attributed its decision to offer these two itineraries to the success of 2018’s two Wellness Cruises. Wellness in the Wilderness with Dr. Weil, offered on the Seabourn Sojourn from June 16 to 28, 2018, traveled between British Columbia and Alaska and included 20 lectures and demonstrations. The Origins of Wellness with Dr. Weil sailed around the Mediterranean this past October and included 25 workshops and discussions.
