Seabourn Venture's Debut Postponed Till April 2022

Seabourn has announced a new date for the launch of its new purpose-built, ultra-luxury expedition ship, Seabourn Venture. The ship, which was scheduled to depart on its inaugural voyage on December 11, 2021, will now set sail from Greenwich (London), England on April 10, 2022.

The change comes after a group of the ultra-luxury cruise line's executives visited the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy last month. During the visit, they received a detailed update on the ship’s progress over the past 18 months, which has been affected by pandemic disruptions and related supply chain challenges.

Guests currently booked on Seabourn Venture voyages scheduled to depart between December 11, 2021 and April 24, 2022 will receive more details about cancellations specific to their booking. The ship will sail two new itineraries around the United Kingdom, including the inaugural voyage from London, and those voyages will go on sale on August 19, 2021.

A second yet-to-be-named sister expedition ship is also under construction at T. Mariotti. Both ships will be designed and built for diverse environments to PC6 Polar Class standards and will include modern hardware and technology that will extend the ships’ global deployment and capabilities. Each will carry two custom-built submarines, 24 Zodiacs, kayaks, and a 26-person expert expedition team.

Guests traveling aboard Seabourn's expedition ships can expect a number of Zodiacs for landings and scenic cruising in remote destinations, double sea kayaks for exploring shorelines and shallow waters, scuba and snorkeling gear for warm-water destinations, and two custom-built, six-person submarines enabling deeper underwater exploration. There will be 132 all-veranda, all ocean-front suites, as well as all indoor and outdoor social areas are designed by Adam D. Tihany.
