U River Cruises has appointed Eddy Mestre to the newly created position director of national sales, effective immediately.
The cruise line launched “the first experience of its kind” in 2018, re-introduced The B ship into its fleet this year and will have three new itineraries for 2020.Popular destinations like Vienna, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Salzburg and Bratislava highlight the offerings; sailings include overnight stays, complimentary happy hours each night and active excursions. Fourteen-night "Super Cruises" are also available, combining multiple itineraries, without repeating ports.
To keep up the brand’s growth, Mestre has been appointed as a dedicated sales resource. He will focus on bringing a refined focus and collaborative energy to the initiatives of the sales, reservations, marketing and operations departments.
Mestre is a graduate of Florida International University with a master’s degree in marketing. He began his career with Uniworld in January 2017 and was named the Uniworld Global Sales Person of the Year in 2018.
Mestre’s previous role, business development manager, South Florida and the Caribbean will be taken over by German Jones. Jones has over 15 years of experience, starting with Carnival Cruise in 2004. His most recent experience includes several years as the BDM for the same region with sister The Travel Corporation company, Insight Vacations. Jones is also a graduate of Florida International University.
