Design Buzz: Boscolo Exedra Nice

Boscolo Exedra Nice

Boscolo Exedra Nice, the recently-added third French property in Marriott's Autograph Collection, has wrapped a full restoration by international architects and designers Maurizio Papiri, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Sergio Minorello and Simone Micheli.

The hotel, originally designed by architect Charles Dalmas, is situated on the French Riviera, as has been restored in keeping with its former glory years in 1913 and the Belle Époque style of the time.

The lobby has old-world grandeur and contemporary style with marble columns and hints of sweeping glass that echo early 20th century style. The theme throughout is neutral, with pastel hues in white and cream.

The 112 rooms include a Presidential Suite, an Executive Suite and a Boscolo Duplex Suite, along with six Junior Suites looking out over the Boulevard Victor Hugo. All rooms have a combination of marble and pale parquet flooring, gilding details, furnishings draped in white linens and fresh flowers. Some rooms also have modular systems that allow the room space to increase to surface areas of up to 1,421 square feet.

Located within the hotel, La Pescheria is a restaurant and meeting point, led by its Italian head chef Giuseppe Mandaradoni.

The property also has a 5,382-square-foot wellness space designed by Simone Micheli. The area has a fitness room, a wet area with a sauna, a Turkish bath and Vichy showers and a steam room all set around an indoor swimming pool. At its center, a tree sculpture delivers waterjets from its branches.

For events, the property has a conference center, with 1,507 square feet of space with soaring ceilings. It can accommodate up to 150 people. In addition, both the indoor space and alfresco terrace are available for events and functions.
