Anantara Sanya is Now Open on China’s Hainan Island

Anantara Sanya Resort and Spa, Hainan Island

Anantara unveiled its newest resort on November 7 on China’s Hainan Island, fast becoming one of Asia’s hottest tropical beach destinations. Surrounded by jungle-clad mountains, the Anantara Sanya Resort and Spa overlooks the South China Sea. There are 122 rooms, suites, and private pool villas outfitted with rain showers and teak furnishings.

The Anantara Spa offers a collection of pearl- and tea-infused treatments, while the restaurant options include flame grilled cuisine by the sea, regional Thai food, and “Dining by Design”—a tailor-made experience like a candlelit wine picnic in the mountains. The concierge can also arrange area excursions: from sailing and surfing to jungle hikes to discover the culture of the indigenous Li people. The Anantara Sanya Resort and Spa is located on Hainan Island's southernmost tip. For more information, visit
