Auberge Resorts' Eco-Friendly Initiatives for Earth Day

Esperanza ResortEarth Day 2012 is fast approaching, and Auberge Resorts has announced a number of green programs to mark the occasion. Committed to ongoing environmental sustainability, Auberge luxury properties across North America will celebrate the planet for the entire month of April. It all kicks off when the lights are dimmed for “Earth Hour” on March 31 from 8:30- 9:30 pm. Lit only with flickering candlelight, Auberge Resorts will offer candlelight massages and fireside-turndown experiences. Here’s a sampling of the eco initiatives:

The Inn at Palmetto Bluff will offer a two-hour “New Earth Year Resolutions” nature walk on Monday, April 23 through the 20,000 acre Palmetto Bluff Conservancy.

Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley will focus on the importance of eating local with a three-course winemaker’s menu featuring seasonal ingredients from the Long Meadow Ranch farm. Also included in the “Napa Valley Dream Experience” Package: A private tour and tasting at the nearby organic and biodynamic Quintessa winery.

Also in Napa: Calistoga Ranch will invite guests to plant olive tree saplings.

There will be an Earth Blessing Ceremony at Encantado in Santa Fe, New Mexico, led by Taos Pueblo tribe member Robert Evan Trujillo.

Esperanza in Cabo San Lucas (pictured) will offer a Green Cactus Cleansing at the spa, a soothing treatment that uses local Nopal cactus, known to have a variety of health benefits.
