Bilbao's Guggenheim Offers Behind-the-Scenes Tours

Great news for art aficionados in Spain: The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao has announced Guggenheim Bilbao+, a new tour program that offers exclusive access to areas of the museum that are normally off-limits.

Visitors can follow the journey of a work of art from its origin to the time it's displayed in the Museum, and learn from the inside out how an art show is planned and designed. They can also go behind the scenes of the museum's Michelin-starred restaurant Nerua run by Josean Martínez Alija, or even look down on the Frank Gehry-museum from above.

The tours, which run from 10:15 to 12:45, are offered in English on Fridays. For multi-lingual clients, tours are offered in Basque on Thursdays, Spanish on Saturdays, and Sundays in French.

Visit guggenheimplus.es for reservations. Note: Tickets must be purchased by the Monday before the date of the tour.

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is located at Avenida Abandoibarra, 2 in Bilbao, Spain.
