The Book of Mormon to Open in London

Great news for West End theater fans: Playbill is reporting that nine-time Tony-winner The Book of Mormon will transfer to London next year. The website for the London production has already launched, with a sign-up form for priority booking details when tickets go on sale in September.

According to a report in London's Daily Mail, the show will begin performances February 25, 2013, at the Prince of Wales Theatre, prior to an official opening planned for around March 21. No casting has been announced yet, but (as with the Broadway production) the creative team is reportedly not looking to cast big-name stars, and will instead let the show's reputation (and its pedigree with music, book and lyrics by South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q's Robert Lopez) be the big draw.
