Dukes Bar, London

London is pulling out all the stops in a city-wide party for Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee - celebrating 60 years of her reign. Hotels are rolling out the red carpet for revelers with with special Diamond Jubilee-inspired offerings. The latest to join the fray: Dukes Hotel, with a Champagne-themed Afternoon Tea and a Diamond Jubilee Martini to toast the Queen’s sixth decade on the throne. Bar Manager Alessandro Palazzi created the cocktail with frozen vintage Booth Gin (a firm favorite of the Queen), homemade dry English vermouth, English Organic Cherry Stone Liquor, and a slice of lemon—served cold in a vintage coronation glass from 1953. Priced at £22.50, and available starting June 1. (The historic bar is the birthplace of the famous “shaken, not stirred” line from James Bond creator Ian Fleming.) Stay in London for the event and watch the Jubilee events on a wide screen TV in the Drawing Room or Marlborough Suite.

Just steps from Buckingham Palace, Spencer House and Clarence House, Dukes London is located in a private courtyard between Green Park and Mayfair. The hotel is home to a Cognac and Cigar Garden, gym, spa, and new restaurant Thirty-Six by Nigel Mendham. For more information, visit www.dukeshotel.com
