The Buzz in Paris: Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs Exhibit Opens Soon

Marc Jacobs, Kate MossFashionistas heading to Paris for Fashion Week will be pleased as punch about a new exhibit scheduled to open on March 9 (running through September 16, 2012). The buzzed-about exhibit at Les Arts Décoratifs will showcase Marc Jacob’s 15-year career at Louis Vuitton. Curated by fashion author Pamela Golbin, the exhibit will “tell the stories of two men, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs,” and analyze their contributions to the fashion world in their respective eras-- over a century apart. To quote the museum’s website: “How did these two personalities, each with their own language, appropriate cultural phenomena and codes to write the history of contemporary fashion?” The exhibit will cover two floors and present some iconic designs (think vintage Louis Vuitton trunks and famous Marc Jacobs’ visions for the French fashion house).

Les Arts Décoratifs is located in the heart of Paris at 101 rue de Rivoli in the first arrondissement. For more information, check out the website: www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr
