Located in the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve on the western-most edge of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Clayoquot Wilderness Resort has a devoted following of clients who return year after year for glamping in luxury tents surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Open May through September, the resort is only accessibly by boat or sea-plane.
The latest news for the 2015 season is that Clayoquot has opened a “Cloud Camp”- perched 4,500 feet above sea level. As part of an exclusive adventure for guests, the Cloud Camp experience begins when the onsite helicopter whisks you away to your own private mountain lake on Ursus Mountain.
A private chef creates a five-course meal, paired with fine wines, so you can dine under the stars, then sleep off your food coma in a tent equipped with a wood floor and all the creature comforts. Cloud Camp is a one-night experience, and the resort’s Facebook page has enticing video of the new offering.
