There’s no shortage of excellent hotels in London, enough for hotel aficionados to get their fix by testing out a different property every month of the year. And the scene just keeps getting more and more exciting, with a bevy of new luxury hotels slated for 2014. (Shangri-La, anyone?)
A small boutique hotel that we’re happily anticipating is The Beaumont in Mayfair, namely because the folks behind it (Jeremy King and Chris Corbin) have served up some of the finest eateries in town, including The Wolseley. One has not breakfasted in London until starting the day at 160 Piccadilly. (Note that the kitchen is currently closed for refurbishment until January 29, 2014.)
Occupying an Art Deco building overlooking Brown Hart Gardens just a quick walk from Hyde Park, The Beaumont is slated to open in Fall 2014. There will be 73 guest rooms, including a terraced Presidential Suite, eight one-bedroom Deluxe Suites, and 13 Junior Suites. Facilities will be comprised of a Corbin & King restaurant, an American-style bar, a 24-hour gym, Turkish hammam and spa rooms, and a boardroom for meetings. The General Manager is Paul Brackley.
