Move over, Marrakech. The Delano will soon also be arriving in Moscow and Las Vegas. Just weeks away from the opening of the Delano Marrakech, blogs are abuzz about expansion plans for the hotel brand around the globe. Managed by the Morgans Hotel Group, the original Delano in South Beach (pictured at right) was redesigned by Philippe Starck in 1994.
Following the debut of the Delano Marrakech, new hotels will open in Cabo San Lucas, Turkey’s Aegean coast, Moscow, and Las Vegas, which will be a rebranding of the 1,100-room THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. The Miami New Times blog quotes Michael Gross, the chief executive of Morgans Group, in an interview with The New York Times: The hotel chain will be a "Four Seasons for the new generation."
