The Delano Will Arrive in Marrakech This September

The hotel scene in Marrakech—already a treat for hotel aficionados—keeps getting better. We just got word that Morgans Hotel Group is planning to bring its Delano brand to the city this fall. The Mondrian Marrakech will follow suit in 2013. The New York-based hospitality management company partnered with Moroccan entrepreneur Ahmed Bennani and Hivernage Collection on these two new properties.

Decorated in a baroque style by design guru Jacques Garcia, the Delano Marrakech will have 73 suites decked out in marble and velvet. (Photos are not yet available.) There will also be three pools and a 20,000 square foot spa offering Valmont and marocMaroc treatments. Like the original urban resort in South Beach, the Delano Marrakech is aiming to become a nightlife destination with a hip rooftop hang-out and an underground nightclub. And the French and Italian restaurants will be helmed by Michelin-starred chefs Michel Rostang and Giancarlo Morelli. HotelChatter surmises that Morgans purchased an existing hotel called The Pearl, and is rebranding it for the September debut.
