Discover Asia through Backyard Travel’s New Tours

For those keen to discover parts of exotic Asia, Backyard Travel has announced the release of a new multi-country trip taking travelers through three capitals of Southeast Asia. The cultural tour allows not just the chance to spend time in Bangkok, Vientiane and Phnom Penh, but also the opportunity for travelers to experience the temples that each country is famous for, including the Angkor Wat in Siem Reap.

The 12-day, 11-night tour begins in Bangkok with an exploration of the City of Angel’s top attractions, including the iconic Wat Pho (Temple of Dawn) and the Grand Palace.

Once in Luang Prabang, the cultural exploration continues with a visit to some of the most revered religious sites in Laos, including Wat Visoun, Wat Xieng Thong and the Pak Ou caves. Travelers can also learn the secrets of preparing local cuisine at a cooking school led by a chef from The Residence Phou Vao.

The tour then moves to Vientiane for an investigation of the temples in the capital and also the laid-back way of life that operates here.

Phnom Penh is the next step on the trip, which begins with a city tour that visits Wat Phnom, National Museum the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda with a collection of gold, silver, crystal and bronze Buddha statues.

The Southeast Asia tour climaxes at the Angkor Wat complex, often touted as one of the world’s finest historical sites. Backyard Travel guests will not only visit the famed temple though, they will also be led on explorations of lesser-seen temples by their local guide, such as Beng Mealea and Prasat Thom.
