According to Hotelier Middle East, the new GM joins the hotel with more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, beginning as operations manager at Scandic Hasselbacken Hotel in Stockholm in 1992.

Two years later, Axing joined Grand Hotel Stockholm, and held a variety of roles, culminating in becoming general manager in 2004, and finally CEO of the Grand Group Stockholm in 2006.

In 2010, Axing moved to Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam as general manager, and now comes to the Middle East to oversee the 369-room property.
