Four Seasons Buenos Aires Undergoing $40 Million Renovation

Four Seasons Buenos Aires

Four Seasons Buenos AiresLuxury travelers got a peek at the newly transformed Four Seasons Buenos Aires in December, when the landmark in La Recoleta showed off the first phase of its $40 million makeover. The lobby got a new look: the walls are decorated with Argentine artwork and etched silver screens inspired by the tango; the reception desks are studded with South American semi-precious stones; sculptural lighting fixtures hang above a hand-tufted carpet—all perfumed by the exclusive Bayo scent created by Fueguia 1833.

Also unveiled in December: a new restaurant called Elena, specializing in modern versions of traditional Argentine specialties; and a bar called Pony Line where imbibers can try cocktails and a “bites” menu in a polo-inspired lounge.

Booking note: Four floors of guest rooms have been renovated with technological upgrades, luxurious furnishings and polo-inspired accents. The rest of the rooms will be completed this year, as the renovation will wrap up by the end of 2013. All meeting spaces on the mezzanine floor are currently getting a makeover.
